The Claddagh ring originated in the village of Claddagh in County Galway and is thought to have been designed by Richard Joyce, who was the first to use it when he and his bride exchanged Claddagh rings at their wedding over 300 years ago.

I absolute love my Claddagh Ring and have worn it every day since i was in 7th grade. i don't know why so many people associate a Claddagh Ring with a purity ring when it actually represents friendship, love or unity. I wear mine to always remind me of these things.
And also because it's background is Irish and I have to like something irish considering my hate for potatoes.
